Whitesparrow and his siblings, Galestorm and Lambheart, were products of an accidental litter between Icewing and Swiftbreeze, two GorgeClanners who had been romantically involved on and off for a few short moons before splitting off for good. During their time together, a litter had been produced, one which neither was aware of until the most obvious symptoms were upon the expectant mother. Rumours surfaced in the clan about who the father was; most were certain that it was Icewing, given he and Swiftbreeze's relationship prior, but neither confirmed nor denied this. Their liaison had ended in flames and neither desired to be linked with one another again. Even if it meant that their offspring would grow up without a second parent.
After her litter's birth, Swiftbreeze considered giving the mewling bumiles up to another pair who had longed for young ones to raise as their own. It wasn't that she didn't love her kits; she loved them as much as any mother could. But every time she looked upon the little kittens, she was reminded of her past love and how it all had collapsed in a pile of flaming wreckage. She couldn't look at her own children without her mind drifting the the pain and everything else she had to endure with Icewing. In addition, she hadn't been prepared to nor had she even wanted to take on the role of mother in the first place. Ultimately, she decided to give them to two clanmates, Clifftail and Adderlily, who she knew had wanted kits but had never been able to produce a litter. This decision ended up impacting both the young mother and her offspring, and was one she ended up regretting.
Clifftail and Adderlily were loving parents, caring deeply for the litter and keeping a watchful eye on them at all time. Given that Swiftbreeze hadn't informed the pair of any names when she offered the kits, so they took it upon themselves to name them. The little tomkit was named Whitekit for obvious reasons, and his sisters were named Galekit and Lambkit. The three siblings were very close from the get-go, and remained that way throughout their kithood.
As a kit, Whitekit never questioned his relationship with his parents. They loved him, and that's all that mattered at that point. But as he approached apprenticeship, he began to question his parents and himself more and more. He and his siblings looked nothing like Clifftail and Adderlily, even when it came down to the simplest things. But his earliest memories consisted of the two warriors and he had never known anything else. So if they weren't his parents, who were?
At six moons, Whitekit was named Whitepaw and was given to Lilacbreeze, a kind but strong-willed she-cat. Whitepaw wasn't prepared for his training at all. Waking up much earlier than he was used to and having to train and hunt for the clan before he could eat was something that took time for the pale tom to get used to, but when he eventually did, he began showing great strides in his training. Yet, the question of his heritage still gnawed at the corner of his mind, until he could take it no longer. He had to confront Clifftail and Adderlily.
Meanwhile, Swiftbreeze was painfully watching from the sidelines as her kits grew up without her. She had given up the joys of motherhood for what? Inexperience? Past mistakes that they weren't responsible for? She knew it was too late now, but she couldn't help but think of what could've been if she had kept her kits. Surely she would be happier than she was now...
Whitepaw padded up to where his parents were relaxing along the edges of the camp. "Oh, good morning Whitepaw!" Adderlily greeted as the apprentice approached. "What's wrong?" she asked confusedly as she noticed the distraught look on her son's face. "I wanted to ask you something... about my family." Both warriors looked confused, and something else. "What do you mean? We are your family," Clifftail mewed. "No, I mean my real family," Whitepaw replied glancing away. "What's gotten into you? Why wouldn't we be your real family?"
"It's just- we don't look anything like you, and I've always felt like, there was something more." Adderlily glanced sideways at Clifftail. "It's Swiftbreeze," she whispered, her voice shaking, "She's your mother. But- we raised you, took care of you, we're just as much your family as she is."
"Yes, yes, I know, I- I have to go," Whitepaw mewed, turning away. He locked eyes with Swiftbreeze as he exited the GorgeClan camp, feeling a slight pang in his chest as she glanced away.
As the moons rolled on, Whitepaw couldn't help thinking about the whole situation with Swiftbreeze. He had told his sisters and they were shocked, but didn't seem to be as torn about it as he was. Whenever he thought he was over it, it would crawl back up like a shadowy beast, drawing his mind back into the depths. He became more self-deprecating, blaming himself for his mother's decision to give him up and feeling as if he wasn't good enough. Though he still loved his adoptive parents, things hadn't been quite the same ever since they told him about Swiftbreeze, at least not for him.
Eventually, the long moons of training had reached their end. Whitepaw and his siblings would become warriors. Whitepaw was as enthusiastic as he could be, but a tiny part of him doubted if he was worthy of the rank. Of course I am, I've trained and worked as hard as any warrior here. He jumped to his feet as he was called up by the leaders of GorgeClan. They recited the words spoken in tradition, awarding the new warrior with the name Whitesparrow.

☮ Overall
On the outside, Whitesparrow is a model warrior. A well-spoken tom, his words are often refined and seemingly hand-picked for the occasion. He is calm, charismatic, and amiable towards every cat he meets. He is resourceful and cautious about his decisions, and has a decent sense of humor, welcoming a good laugh. When assigned a duty, he carries it out and does his best to achieve above the minimum
But on the inside, it's a completely different story. He is extremely anxious and self-deprecating, always feeling as if he isn't enough and that he needs to prove himself not only to other cats, but himself. He is suspicious and distrustful of many cats, including some of his own clanmates. When it comes to impactful decisions, the white tomcat is rather hesitant and indecisive, not wanting to pick the wrong choice and become worse of a warrior than he thinks he is. In addition, Whitesparrow has taken a rather cynical view of the world, and tends to use sarcasm, charisma, and belittlement of himself to mask his inner thoughts.
