A long time ago, the four clans lived together along the shoreline of the ocean, competing with each other for space, dealing with the threat of possible humans, and facing challenges that nature threw their way. During a period of long, dreadful storms, a large wave from the ocean grew in the distance. It grew and grew until finally, when it reached the land, it wiped out everything in its path. Many cats, dogs, humans, and wildlife perished, and those left fled as soon as possible. For a while the land was quiet, not even the slightest sign of life anywhere.



But, as it had many times before, Starclan came to the land's aid. Four cats of Starclan stepped forward to take on the hard task of rebuilding what once was the home to so many of their descendants. With the blessing of Starclan itself, the four cats recreated the land that the clans once called home, each of the four cats taking their own portion of the land. Taivas, a sand and blue-pelted she-cat, rebuilt the rocky hills of Skyclan. Sumu, a black and dark purple tom, recreated the foggy marshes of Fogclan. Maa, a fluffy green she-cat, made the forests of Earthclan come back to life. Finally, Kuu, a fluffy blue and white tom, brought back the open meadows of Moonclan. As cats who survived the wave began to return, the four Starclan cats wanted it to be known that they were the ones who remade the homes of the clans.



When cats began to join together to remake the clans, the four cats chose one cat from each clan that they felt was worthy to be a Leader. Each Starclan cat met those cats in their dreams, showing them that the land was rebuilt by Starclan. During these dreams, the pelts of the clan cats began to change, colors of every shade and tint forming into their fur. The chosen Leaders for each of the clans, in their sleep, had a star that formed on their heads, matching with the four Starclan cats that made their home.



Now, the land prospers again under the rule of the four Starclan cats that rebuilt it. Many other Starclan cats stepped up and even recreated the land around the clans so that the loners and the rogues wouldn't have to suffer. Cats of every color and pattern now rule this land, following under the watchful eyes of Starclan.
