Born to Honeystar & Cypressclaw
Sister to Pikepaw & Quailpaw
Foxkit was born alongside her brother Pikekit and her sister Quailkit to the deputy at the time of Moorclan, Honeyleap. They never got to know their father, a Moorclan tom by the name of Cypressclaw, for he had died, leaving their mother mourning his passing. With the three siblings born and healthy, Honeyleap returned to her duties as deputy, and Foxkit and her siblings spent much time in the care of their aunt Dovetail, though their mother still frequented the nursery often to care for and love them. It was a happy childhood, especially seeing as the kits were too young to truly understand the circumstances of their lack of a father and what was really behind the loving smiles of their mother. However, ever curious, it wasn’t long before little Foxkit began asking her questions with why, often revisiting the subject of her father. However, upon understanding the finality of death for the first time, and learning this was Cypressclaw’s fate, it would seem this question alone would be the first time Foxkit would accept a simple answer without pressing the matter. She understood, this was not a question to breach again.
The siblings aged happy and healthy, and Foxkit tried her best to remain as close as possible with all members of her family, from her mother and siblings, to her aunt and uncle. She made friends, too, among the more adventurous and tolerant kinds, though many shy kits seemed to be taken in under her welcoming wing, drawn in by someone as carefree and confident as her, yet still kind and welcoming to all. Their mother became leader as death struck again and the remaining leader stepped down, leaving Honeyleap to become Honeystar. With her siblings at her side, Foxkit readily followed her mother in a change of pace, and eagerly took to her new name Foxpaw with pride and satisfaction. This new change served to expand her horizons, raise all the possibilities beyond what she’d ever known in her first six moons, and she readily embraced this change and all the new adventures and explorations that accompanied it.

☮ Overall
Much of what Foxpaw does is driven by curiosity. By her need for, and love of knowledge. She has always felt, and continues to feel, that there is always an answer. A better answer, a more satisfying answer. She wants to know all there is to know, and so she is found constantly asking questions, constantly seeking answers that she hopes will sate her endless hunger yet in truth never will. While entirely well-meaning, this bubbly, jovial girl has minimal tact, and can quite often get up in another’s face, saying whatever’s on her mind and readily correcting anyone at fault. She never means any harm by it, of course, its just a habit she’s yet to shake in which, if she knows something and someone else does not, she feels the overwhelming need to teach them. After all, whilst part of her knows this isn’t entirely true, she likes to believe that if she has this great thirst for knowledge, then surely others do too, and so why wouldn’t they want to exchange what they know? Why...it’s always all about why. Why are there Brilliants? Why are there two leaders? Why are there mutations? Why can I never be satisfied with an answer?
While she is playful and happy most times, driven by a thirst for adventure and knowledge and readily dragging along anyone who can put up with her erratic, impulsive nature, at times she is a little different. In truth, Foxpaw is a very emotional molly. She tends to bottle things up and let herself get wound up tight, all her broiling feelings compressed within her like a spring. The second she feels one powerful emotion, all that gets released in one rush, often in hyperactivity or, quite commonly, tears. Its not that she’s a crybaby, if anything she’s pretty brave and can take insults and the like quite well and brush them off easily, its simply that her emotions come in such powerful waves that simply laughing, smiling, or lashing her tail can’t possibly convey them enough. And so, be it overjoyed, furious, truly upset, or even terribly frustrated, tears will often accompany the emotion. She tends not to be able to hide her emotions well anyway. She couldn’t care less if others can tell what she’s feeling, of course, in fact she’d prefer that they did. However, crying makes her feel weak, and this she despises because part of her believes she is truly weak, even if the ret of her confidently knows and blatantly professes that she isn’t. In these moments, her self-confidence feels a little bit like a lie.
When she’s not flustered and tearing up, or bouncing off the walls like an energetic adventure bunny chirping “why, why, why?” Foxpaw can in truth prove to be a quite down to earth and helpful addition to the clan. She may be a little random, impulsive and spontaneous, and she may be prone to blurting out random things or telling someone they’re doing everything wrong and asking questions at every turn, but she is also a very generous and understanding young molly. She cares deeply about her clanmates and their well-being, and is a surprisngly good listener, as well as being generous and always ready to lend a paw. Perhaps she may turn her nose up to those who’ve taken things too far, but considering how easily she tends to bounce back from most anything, this isn’t very common. More likely, she’ll be seen trying her hardest and constantly helping out. Her favourite things to help out with are of course kits, and collecting herbs when the medicine cats’ paws are full. She sees it as a bit of a treasure hunt, in truth, and with the kits she loves teaching them things and telling them stories, as well as just playing with clanmates as lively and spontaneous as herself. The effort she puts into her training may be surprising, and she can pay a lot of attention to it if need be. The best way to unlock her true potential and get her focused and working hard, of course, is to propose a deal or a challenge, or turn it into a game. Make it fun, inviting, and she might just surprise everyone.
